Houston is lucky to have an active ride at any given time during the year. Now that it is summer ( i know, its hot but stay with me) there are a number of rides to get you moving.

At West End we have our own rides, See our current ride info but if you are not close to us check with your own local shop. Nearly every shop worth it’s chainlube has a ride of some flavor. Some focus on mtb others road but who cares, ride what you have.

If you are more into organized and supported rides (i.e. food and porta-johns at strategic intervals) there are tons. Here is a link to some. There are many more, this is just a sample.

If you just can’t bring yourself to ride in the 104 degree heat, July 4th is the beginning of the Tour de France. Here is an idea. Mount your bike onto an indoor trainer, watch the tour on Versus while you pedal like Bob Roll with a raging case of pelotas rojas and pretend you are shuttling water up to the leaders. It seems silly and may cause delusions of grandeur but hey, you are grand and what else are you going to do for the rest of July?
